Hi @Janjer,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your laptop to your printer, you can follow these steps depending on the type of connection you prefer:
Connecting via USB Cable:
Ensure Printer Compatibility: Make sure your printer is compatible with your laptop's operating system (e.g., Windows, macOS).
Install Printer Drivers:
- For Windows: Many printers will install drivers automatically when connected via USB. If not, download the latest drivers from the printer HP website.
- For macOS: macOS usually installs necessary drivers automatically. If not, download drivers from the manufacturer's website.
Connect the USB Cable:
- Plug one end of the USB cable into your printer and the other end into an available USB port on your laptop.
Set Up Printer (Windows):
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Set Up Printer (macOS):
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + button to add the printer and follow the prompts.
Test Printing:
- Print a test page to ensure the connection is working correctly.
Connecting via Wireless (Wi-Fi):
- Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop. Follow the printer's manual for instructions on connecting to Wi-Fi.
- Follow the same steps as above to install drivers appropriate for your laptop's operating system.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner and select your printer from the list
Using HP Smart App (Wireless):
- Download and install the HP Smart app from your app store (iOS or Android).
- Open the HP Smart app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.
- Use the HP Smart app to print documents, photos, and scan directly from your laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
