HP ENVY Photo 6255 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I turned off the printer and it won't turn back on.  The line on the screen goes to the end but then stops and won't continue.

I tried unplugging it and reconnecting it twice, with the same results.

Hi @jm38850,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

This looks like a hardware issue.

Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove the USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

If this does not help, I recommend you contact phone support

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Thank you Elohi NR. but it turned out that I didn't need it.  When it wouldn't start, I just left it and went on with other things.  Two days later, I turned it on and it started right up.  I hadn't even read your e-mail yet.  But thanksanyway.
