@Snappydograt, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your printer's blue internet light keeps blinking and never goes to solid blue, it indicates that the printer is trying to connect to the wireless network but is unable to establish the connection. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Your Network Connection:
- Ensure that your router is turned on and connected to the Internet. Test this by connecting another device to the same network.
- If you are unable to connect to the Internet, restart your router. If this doesn't help, contact your network service provider.
Printer Network Setup:
- Verify that the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
- Make sure your printer's network settings are correct. If necessary, set up Wi-Fi on the printer again.
Indicator Lights:
- Blue Light: Indicates wireless network connection status. If blinking, the printer is trying to connect.
Wireless Setup Mode:
- If status light pulses purple, the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode.
Actions for Specific Light Patterns:
- Pulsing Blue and then Amber: The printer is unable to connect to a wireless network. Try to connect to a wireless network again.
If Printer is Unable to Connect:
- Using HP Smart App: Try connecting using the HP Smart app.
- Download the HP Smart app, follow the instructions to connect your printer wirelessly.
- Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):
- Follow the instructions to connect your printer using WPS.
Restore Network Settings to Default:
- Press and hold the Information button for 3 seconds, and then release the button. All control panel buttons will light up.
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button. The printer restarts and enters wireless setup mode. You can now set up a wireless connection again.
I hope this helps.
