Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,  Recent issue with connecting to my wireless router.  Have tried re-entering WAP with no luck.  Tried rebooting router and again re-entering WAP, no luck.  I have had this printer for about 9 years and have never had any issues.  Could there be a wifi hardware issue?  I am currently tele-working from home and need this printer badly.  Please help!!  Thank you in advance.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

As I understand you are having connectivity issues on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer. Don't worry, though, as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

Hard reset on the printer, router, computer and other devices on the same network.

The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.

  • 1. Press the Power button on the printer to turn it off.
  • 2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • 3. Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
  • 4. Turn off the computer.
  • 5. Wait for 30 seconds.
  • 6. Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
  • 7. Wait for 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready
  • 8. Turn the computer back on.
  • 9. Wait for the computer to reload
  • 10. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • 11. Turn the printer back on.

If you’re running Windows, I would start by checking the installed printer software by downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and printer software related issues. Please use this link to help you with that information: http://hp.care/2biN2XE

If the issue persists, I would suggest you try these steps here:

Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection - Click here

If the issue still persists, I would recommend you try these steps which should help to resolve the issue:

Assign a manual IP and creating a TCP/IP port should resolve printer offline issue.

Watch the video to know how to assign a manual IP on HP Printer: http://hp.care/2cqpl6p

Refer this to create a TCP/IP port: http://hp.care/2dxUJQo

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I believe my issue has to do with the IP Address associated with the printer.  If I click the WiFi icon on the printer's control panel it states, "IP: NO LINK".  Could this be the issue?  How can I resolve?

Thank you for posting back.

Have you tried assigning manual IP address?
