Common problems for Connectivity Issues

To troubleshoot connectivity issues with your HP LaserJet Tank 1020w printer not connecting to WiFi, follow these steps.

 

Restart Printer and Router:

  • Turn off your printer and then unplug the power cord from the router.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug the router back in and let it reboot completely.
  • Turn on your printer and wait for it to initialize.

Check Wireless Signal:

  • Ensure that your printer is within range of your WiFi router. Move the printer closer to the router if possible to improve signal strength.

Verify WiFi Settings on Printer:

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to the WiFi settings or Wireless Setup Wizard (refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions).
  • Select your WiFi network name (SSID) from the list of available networks.
  • Enter your WiFi password if prompted and confirm the settings.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can resolve many connectivity issues.
  • You can usually check for updates through the printer's control panel menu or the HP website.

Restart Devices:

  • Sometimes, simply restarting both your printer and computer or mobile device can help resolve connectivity issues.

  • Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer's access to your network. Temporarily disable them if needed to test connectivity.

Reset Network Settings:
