Why do I have to setup an account for instant ink when I use 10 pages a month? Why will my printer not work without me paying a fee for instant ink?

Welcome to the HP English Community --

?

You do NOT need to subscribe to Instant Ink to use your printer.

Simply say No, skip, or bypass every suggestion or offer to subscribe.

Do this until the insistent offers stop.

Instant Ink is optional.

The only exception to this is the HP All-In Plan

You would certainly know if you were signing up for that service.

Unfortunately, you appear wrong.  I broke down and signed up for the $1.99 per month plan, and immediately the printer started spewing out everything I was trying to print.  I will NEVER purchase another HP product again.  Why do I have to pay a subscription to use my printer?  Because this is a serious ripoff.

Then explain why the moment I setup the $1.99/month subscription, it started working and printing the documents that were in the print spool?

I understand your frustration.

You are asking for explanations I cannot provide --

I have never had an Instant Ink subscription.

I understand the contract and I've read many documents on the subject -

I cannot know why your situation is different.

True - we do not judge nor control what people decide to do.
