Hi @Vivivaldo

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is having difficulty connecting to your Mac computer, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your printer is compatible with your macOS version. Check the printer manufacturer's website for compatible drivers.

Update macOS:

  • Make sure your Mac is running the latest version of macOS. Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update to check for updates.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and Mac. Sometimes a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • If you’re using a wireless connection, ensure that both the printer and Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. You may need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Add Printer in System Preferences:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the + button to add your printer. If it appears in the list, select it and follow the prompts to add it.

Reset Printing System:

  • In Printers & Scanners, right-click (or Control-click) in the list of printers and select Reset printing system. This will remove all printers and reset your printing system. After that, try adding the printer again.

Install or Update Drivers:

  • If your printer requires specific drivers, make sure they are installed or updated. You can usually find drivers on the manufacturer's website.

Check Firewall and Security Settings:

  • Ensure that your Mac's firewall settings aren't blocking the printer. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall and make adjustments if necessary.

Use USB Connection:

  • If you’re having trouble with a wireless connection, try connecting the printer directly to your Mac using a USB cable to see if it works that way.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
