For some odd reason, the WiFi on my printer stopped working.  It had been working for 4 months and then, for no reason I could determine, it went off-line.  I've tried many ways to get it going again including unplugging it, going through every menu, consulting any web page I could find discussing the issue.  I keep on getting this message, "You cannot use this function because it has been disabled. For more information, contact the person who set up the printer."  That's me and I have no idea what's going on.

@DavidSYR, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We will have to perform a factory reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have this identical issue.  Only difference is that my Mac OS is Big Sur.  Can you help me get wifi re-established?

@kclark1575, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To assist you better, kindly elaborate on the issue.

Are you getting any errors?

Do you get this error - "You cannot use this function because it has been disabled."?

Are you trying to connect the printer to your home network?

Keep me posted.
