Hello
My printer for over a week is causing the printer to disconnect from the network after being on for about 5 hours where by the printer drops off the network with lights flashing my router tries to ARP and gets no reply I have even set on the printer to use a static IP but still drops.
Wifi light stays on but the other lights flash and the only way to fix it is to press the power button.
This happened once before but it fixed itself so I'm thinking its a connection issue to HP that the printer does this?
Any help on this thanks

The printer supports both the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz band.
You may want to force the printer to use only one band.
What this video to see how to set the band.
Read about the different bands here
I recommend the 2.4 unless the printer is in the same room as the modem.
Log into your modem and select the best channel
Be sure to find the channel that has the least amount of noise

See if you can disable sleep
If the printer is not waking up the problem can be the network or the computer not sending a wakeup message. A quick fix is to set the sleep to off or never. Access the printers embedded web page and set sleep to off or never.

Also, check the signal strength of the wifi and look for any history of tranmision errors

This deskjet is basic their is no off
The problem happens every 5 hours not 2 hours and why would the light flash like they do for power saving? I have had the printer for over a year and this problem only happen one other time and fixed itself now its happening again and don't know why?

Probably a hardware problem.
There is a very long discussion of the problem here
basically the IP address had to be static which it seems you have done.
The only other thing I can think of is that it goes to sleep in the 2.4 ghz band but wakes up in the 5 ghz band and can't get an IP address. If you cannot force the 2710 to 2.4 then rename one of the wifi bands in the modem to ensure that 2.4 or 5 is used..
You could confirm the problem to be hardware by switching to USB. If the problem goes away then it is WiFI related.
good luck!
