CenturyLink Zyxel C1100Z router OfficeJet 8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP OfficeJet 8620 connected wireless via CenturyLink gateway Zyxel C1100Z.  Other devices (Windows 10 laptops, iPhones, etc. ) work fine, but every morning the printer drops connection and have to reboot router to get printer connected.  Works ok rest of day.  HP tech says printer is obsolete and not compatible with router.  Any suggestions other than buying a new printer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's reset the network settings on the Printer:

1. From the printer control panel, touch and slide your finger across the screen, touch Setup, and then touch Network Setup. 2. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then touch Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored. 3. Touch OK. 4. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset

Once done, connect it to the Wi-Fi and check if the same happens.

Thanks for the suggestion, but have done that several times with the HP techs and no permanent fix,  Have also changed the IP address as well as channel for the router--both fixed for a day or two,  The printer worked fine until about a month go and started requiring the daily rebooting.  Have talked to Microsoft, Internet provider, malware provider in addition to HP.  The internet provider said that the printer is not compatible with the router.  The last HP tech agreed and said the problem was due to the printer being obsolete and said to either get a new HP printer or continue the daily reboot routine!  Was hoping someone may have a "work around" to the problem.  Also, have checked the reviews on the newer replacement models (9015 and 9025) and many people are having the same problem!

We'll have to perform a reset on the Printer for this. I have sent you a private message, for more details that cannot be shared in a public post.
