Hi. I have a Deskjet Plus 4100 printer, which worked perfectly fine before I had to disconnect my WiFi router for some cable adjustments. After WiFi was back on my printer no longer reconnected to the WiFi. I got a blue blinking light go on. I attempted to reconnect but it would not connect and it would freeze during the set up. It would no longer go on to the next step after it asked me to click the information button once. I tried contacting support but didn’t receive much help. Tried some YouTube videos, HP support and help from the HP smart app. Nothing seems to work. I tried connecting using WPS but it connects then disconnects. My printer also keeps printing diagnostic sheets. Keeps wasting my paper, very frustrating. I tried using the HP doctor tool but it can’t connect to my printer since it has no internet. Already reset my WiFi again and restarted my computer and phone and unplugged the printer, but no change. Also sometimes all the buttons are flashing or the WiFi and information buttons keeps flashing. Tried to find any new updates that my printer might need but I can’t update since there’s no way to connect my printer to my network. Please help, Im not sure what happened

Log into the modem and find the channel that has the least amount of noise
Makes sure the name (SSID) of the 2.4 ghz band is different form the 5ghz band
You can use the same password but make sure the names are different.
reset the printer and program it to use only the 2.4ghz band.
If English is not your native language or if you wish to get additional information not covered below, then use the HP and Microsoft support assistants. The latest HPSA supports 36 languages and can be downloaded here. Microsoft's AI assistant is in the latest Windows 10 and 11 releases and there are instructions here on how to enable the AI. Microsoft's AI assistant (Copilot) has a microphone button and supports natural language processing. |
You may need to reset the printer:video here

This is useful if there is no modem or you do not want to give someone access to your modem but you want to let them print something.
Simple push button or WPS setup is described on page 22 of User Manual
Full feature software all 4100 devices March 2022

Let me know if you have a flex system (Wi-Fi boosters or repeaters) as the setup is much more complicated when using the router type of connection.
