Have contacted HP sales and been told that HP 9135e and HP 3301sdw both have resize under the copy menu on the control panel. However, neither shows that in their user guides. Does HP have any printer with the resize under the copy menu on the control panel. It is a pain to have to use HP Smart just to make a simple change in the size.

You are welcome.
Sometimes the answer is not the one wanted -- we get that.
Yes - much has changed -- it's been about 13 years since the 8600 series was introduced.
The 9135e includes a lot of scan and print features the old "top of line" 8600 enjoyed.
Configured with HP+ (optional), extra features are added, including those for scanning file types not normally available and printing remotely.
The 9135e can be fussy and more work to manage.
The 9135e printer includes additional security (and settings to manage that security).
The 9135e can be more work to configure and the full driver printer software is different (without sacrificing features).
Perhaps the OfficeJet Pro 9135e might not be the "printer for you", after all.
The Resize options are on the Printer Control Menu under Copy.
Resize and other options are not gone, the setup does look different.
True - the X cancel has been removed from this printer.
Jobs control / Remove / Reprint has taken the place of the single "X" cancel button.
I've had time to adjust to the new printer / EWS format in the year plus since I purchased the 9135e.
I prefer the new format but that does not mean everyone feels the same, of course.

The OfficeJet Pro 9135e is a close match -- in a modern printer - to the older premium 8600 models.
For example, the printer supports the much loved automatic 2-sided scanning option and other "nice" features.

Thank you. Yes, the HP 9135e does have a copy button but the submenu including resize like the HP 8600.
Someone else posted a similar question and the answer was to use HP Smart to change the settings.
It is hard to believe that HP eliminated the resize and the cancel X button on the control panel for apparently all printers.

Thank you for all of the information. You are very helpful. I began to look at other brands but tend to be faithful to what has worked in the past. My 8600 was nearly 13 years old so I should be thankful for that. I doubt if the next printer will last that long but maybe since I won't be printing nearly like I did several years ago.
Thank you again.

You are welcome.
Not having had a new printer for so long might make any change somewhat jarring.
The 9135e is "a lot" of printer -- it's not perfect - I mentioned that in my experience, the printer can be fussy about network, connections, security, and firmware.
The printer does try to make up for being fussy and complex by including most of the features we expect from a high-end inkjet printer.
If not convinced,
Wait a bit longer -- things change and what is "next" might be a better fit.
Cheers.

You are welcome -- you are a bit brave, too.
Smiling.
The 9135e is feature packed -- and it can be a challenge to run.
If the firmware locks up first thing (and it can because, you know, "challenge"),
Complete the Restore Factory Defaults in EWS (possibly after having to unplug the printer for a minute to regain access to EWS) --
I had to do one Factory Restore once early on --
I run this printer on Ethernet -- Wireless is supported but "eww - wireless".
Full router configuration and manual / static IP address.
Since that time, whenever the printer wanders away too far to recover itself, unplugging it for a minute sets things right.
Yeah, I know. I like the printer and I put up with it.
Will the model ever be less troublesome?
No doubt -- and perhaps your later build (mine is early 2024) is already better..
Oh, keep the printer very clean - the printer doesn't do well if it gets dirty, gummy, sticky.
Good Luck.
Ask if / when you have questions.
I cannot fix the weird bouncy firmware but I do have a number of examples of other "how to" setups.
