Yes, but I recommend you use 2.4ghz based on this explanation
However, if you wish to use "WiFi direct" from pc or smartphone direct to printer then all devices have to be on the same band.
WiFi direct is best used when you do not have access to a modem or router.
Forcing the printer to use only one band helps to allow it to wake up form sleep and get the same IP address.
