Welcome to the HP English Community --

Well, contacting HP Support is not happening -- the printer is well beyond the point where it is in Warranty.

HP Support accepts in-Warranty hardware repair submissions.

Example

Release date for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a

End of September 2011

Our HP Community is not HP Support; we do offer online help free of charge.

If the printer is the venerable OfficeJet Pro 8600 or one of its siblings, it is likely between about ten to fourteen years old.

Assuming you have tried the various Reset / Restart options and the other methods you might have used over the years, the printer might have suffered a mechanical failure.

What?  Yes, even the highly regarded and long lasting OfficeJet Pro 8600 has a point where it stops working.

One of the easiest things to try:

Press and hold the power button until the printer stops or stops and possibly restarts.
