Product: HP DeskJet 2710 All-in-One Printer

recently my DeskJet 2710 which was connected to my Wi-Fi and my desktop computer (no Wi-Fi but connected by Ethernet to the same network) stopped working on my desktop (appears as offline)

I can see the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi (am able to print from my mobile) but cannot connect it back to the desktop (which has no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) 

have tried uninstalling HP Smart and installing it back again, deleted the printer, looked through the HP support but still have figure what is wrong and how to restore the connection to the desktop
would very much appreciate your help on this
