@DrTomC, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format All-in-One Printer is connected to the network but cannot access the Internet while other devices can, there may be a few troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Check Wi-Fi Status and Signal Strength:

  • Ensure that the printer is within the range of the Wi-Fi signal.
  • Verify the Wi-Fi connection status on the printer's control panel. A solid blue light indicates that the Wi-Fi connection is established.

Verify Network Settings:

  • Confirm that the Wi-Fi settings on the printer match those of the network. Sometimes a wrong password or incorrect SSID can prevent the printer from accessing the Internet.

Restart Devices:

  • Power down your printer and restart the router and modem.
  • Turn the printer back on and allow it to reconnect to the network.

Restore Network Settings:

  • Reset the network settings on the printer to default and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. Instructions can be found in the printer's menu under network settings.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Make sure the printer's firmware is up-to-date. Updates can resolve connectivity issues.

Check DNS and IP Configuration:

  • Ensure that the printer is configured to obtain IP and DNS settings automatically, unless specific settings are required for your network.

Firewall and Security Settings:

  • Check your network's firewall and security settings to ensure they are not blocking the printer's access to the Internet.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
