Hi @whatknott,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you can't access the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 to the new router, here are some steps you can try.
Use HP Smart App (Recommended)
- Download the HP Smart app on your phone or computer if you haven't already (available for iOS, Android, and Windows/Mac computers).
- Connect your device to the same network as your new router.
- Open the HP Smart app and select Add Printer.
- Follow the prompts to reconnect your printer to the new WiFi network.
Connect via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
- Locate the WPS button on your router (usually at the back or side).
- On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless button (or go to Settings).
- Select Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) and follow the prompts.
- Press the WPS button on your router when prompted.
- Wait for the connection to be established.
Reset Printer’s Network Settings
If the Wireless Setup Wizard still isn't accessible, resetting the network settings might help:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings.
- Select Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
- Confirm the reset.
- Try to reconnect to the new router using either the HP Smart app or the printer’s Wireless Setup Wizard (should now be accessible after reset).
Manual IP Address Entry (if connected via USB)
- Connect the printer via USB to your computer.
- Open a browser and type the printer’s IP address (you can find this through the printer control panel).
- Go to the Network tab and update the WiFi network information manually.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
