my printer is disabled and need devise administrator to enable it.  It's my computer, how do I do this?

To enable your HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter on your iMac, follow these steps:

Step 1: Check Printer Permissions

  1. Open System Preferences on your iMac and navigate to Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your HP Officejet Pro 8100 from the list of printers.
  3. Click the Options & Supplies button and check if there are any restrictions or permissions set for the printer.

Step 2: Enable Administrator Access

  1. Open System Preferences and go to Users & Groups.
  2. Ensure your account has Administrator privileges. If not:
    • Click the lock icon at the bottom left and enter your password.
    • Select your account and check the box for Allow user to administer this computer.
  3. Restart your iMac to apply changes.

Step 3: Reset Printer Settings

  1. Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click on your HP Officejet Pro 8100 and select Reset Printing System.
  3. Re-add the printer by clicking the + button and selecting it from the list.

Step 4: Update Printer Drivers

  1. Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP Officejet Pro 8100 compatible with macOS.
  2. Install the drivers and restart your iMac.

Step 5: Test Printing

  1. Open a document and try printing to ensure the printer is enabled and functioning correctly.
