My HP 9015 printer was working fine on my wireless network. Then one day it keeps saying "An ethernet cable has not been detected. Make sure that both ends of cable are inserted correctly". I am not connected through ethernet and it will not give me an option to connect through wifi anymore.I have reset to factory settings. Rebooted my router, etc. I can only print when my printer connects through wifi-direct.

Hi @kikifarms,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP 9015 printer is having trouble connecting to your wireless network and is defaulting to a wired Ethernet connection. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue.

  • Check Wireless Settings: Ensure that the wireless settings on your printer are correctly configured. You may need to re-enter your Wi-Fi network's SSID (name) and password.
  • Restart Printer and Router: Turn off your printer and router, wait a few minutes, and then turn them back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix bugs and improve functionality.
  • Forget Wi-Fi Network: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless settings and forget/delete the current Wi-Fi network. Then, rejoin the network by entering the Wi-Fi credentials again.
  • Reset Network Settings: Perform a network reset on your printer to clear any network configuration issues. This option is usually found in the printer's settings menu.
  • Check Router Settings: Ensure that your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, as some HP printers only support this frequency. Additionally, check if there are any MAC address filtering or other security settings on your router that might be preventing the printer from connecting.

By going through these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the connectivity issue with your HP 9015 printer and get it back online via Wi-Fi.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
