Hi @Vrwarping,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering an error while trying to connect to a shared HP LaserJet Pro M1136 printer from a Windows 11 client system. The error code 0x0000011b typically indicates a connection issue between the client and the shared printer. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this:

  1. Check Network Connectivity:
    • Ensure both the server (where the printer is shared) and the Windows 11 client have proper network connectivity. This includes checking Ethernet or Wi-Fi connections and ensuring there are no network issues.
  2. Verify Printer Sharing Settings:
    • On the server where the printer is connected, check the printer sharing settings. Make sure the printer is shared correctly and that sharing permissions allow access to other devices on the network.
  3. Firewall and Security Software:
    • Sometimes, firewall or security software settings can block printer connections. Temporarily disable firewall or security software on both the server and the client to see if it resolves the issue. If it does, adjust firewall settings to allow printer sharing.
  4. Update Printer Drivers:
    • Ensure that the printer drivers on both the server and the Windows 11 client are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connection issues.
  5. Restart Devices:
    • Restart both the server and the Windows 11 client system. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve temporary network issues.
  6. Check Windows 11 Settings:
    • On the Windows 11 client, check the network profile (Private, Public) and ensure that printer sharing is enabled for the appropriate network profile.
  7. Reset Printer and Restart Print Spooler:
    • On the server, reset the HP LaserJet Pro M1136 printer by turning it off, unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in and turning it on. Additionally, restart the Print Spooler service on the server:
      • Open Run (Win + R), type services.msc, and press Enter.
      • Locate Print Spooler in the list, right-click it, and select Restart.
  8. Check Event Viewer:
    • Use the Event Viewer on both the server and the Windows 11 client to check for any specific error messages related to printer connections. This might provide more insight into the issue.
  9. Driver Compatibility Mode (if applicable):
    • Right-click on the printer driver installer or executable, go to Properties > Compatibility tab, and select an earlier version of Windows (like Windows 10) in the Compatibility mode. Then try installing the driver again.
  10. Update Windows 11:
    • Ensure that both the server and the Windows 11 client have the latest updates installed. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues.
