That’s frustrating! If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6960/6962 isn’t being recognized by your PC, let’s go through some troubleshooting steps to get it connected.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Step 1: Check Physical Connections
- If using USB, ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and PC.
- If using Wi-Fi, confirm the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Try a different USB port or cable if using a wired connection.
Step 2: Restart Devices
- Power off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Restart your computer and router.
Step 3: Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Manage > Run the Troubleshooter.
Step 4: Manually Add the Printer
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Click Add a Printer.
- Select The printer that I want isn’t listed.
- Choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
- Select the correct USB or network port.
- Click Windows Update to refresh the list of drivers.
- Choose the correct printer model and install the driver.
Step 5: Update Printer Drivers
- Visit HP’s support page and download the latest drivers for your printer.
