Good afternoon, from the previous moment: An HP laptop with OS W11, a LaserJet M234sdw was installed. Everything was fine up to that point. Currently, a VPN (Cisco) is required for security. Obviously, when using it, the laptop's IP changes, and the printer becomes disconnected. When attempting a second installation under the VPN, HP Smart fails to locate the printer, even when given the printer's IP address. Under the W11 installation, it detects it, but cannot print; the message "drivers unavailable" appears. Even after restarting both, the error persists.

@VladimKazth, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Thanks for following up with the details—this sounds like a frustrating issue. The problem you’re facing is actually quite common when combining a local printer with VPN software that changes network routes or isolates traffic.
What's Going On?
When the Cisco VPN connects, it creates a virtual network adapter, and most VPNs isolate all traffic through the VPN, which prevents local network discovery and even direct IP connections to devices like your printer. That’s why:
HP Smart can't find the printer over VPN.
Even giving it a static IP doesn’t help because VPN routes override local network routes.
“Driver unavailable” usually means the print spooler can’t talk to the printer through the new network interface (VPN).
I advise you to try connecting without a VPN to see if the problem still exists.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
