Hi @bobbijot,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your new HP OfficeJet Pro 6000 printer is printing from your laptop but not from your desktop, it's likely a connectivity or driver issue specific to your desktop computer. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Check Printer Connection:
- Verify Connection: Ensure that your HP OfficeJet Pro 6000 printer is properly connected to your desktop computer. If it's a wired connection, make sure the USB cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the desktop computer. If it's a wireless connection, ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your desktop.
2. Set as Default Printer:
- Desktop Settings: Go to your desktop computer's settings or control panel and make sure that your HP OfficeJet Pro 6000 printer is set as the default printer.
3. Restart Printer and Desktop:
- Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Desktop: Restart your desktop computer to refresh the system.
4. Update Printer Drivers:
- Download Latest Drivers: Visit the HP Support website and download the latest printer drivers for your HP OfficeJet Pro 6000 printer. Make sure to select the correct drivers for your desktop computer's operating system.
- Install Drivers: Once downloaded, run the driver installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers on your desktop computer.
5. Troubleshoot Printing Queue:
- Check Printing Queue: On your desktop computer, check if there are any print jobs stuck in the printing queue. Cancel or delete any pending print jobs.
- Restart Print Spooler: Open the Services app on your desktop computer, find the Print Spooler service, and restart it. This can sometimes resolve printing issues.
6. Firewall and Antivirus Settings:
- Firewall/Antivirus: Check if any firewall or antivirus software on your desktop computer is blocking communication with the printer. Temporarily disable them and try printing again to see if it resolves the issue.
7. Reinstall Printer:
- Remove Printer: On your desktop computer, remove the HP OfficeJet Pro 6000 printer from the list of installed printers.
- Reinstall Printer: Reinstall the printer using the latest drivers downloaded from the HP Support website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
