Hi @sirena03,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When you have a new router and need to reconnect your HP printer to the updated Wi-Fi network, follow these steps to reconfigure the printer's wireless settings:
Method 1: Using the Printer's Control Panel (if applicable)
Access the Wireless Settings:
- On your HP printer's control panel, navigate to the network or wireless settings menu. The exact steps can vary depending on your printer model, but you typically need to press the wireless icon or navigate through settings using arrow keys.
Select Setup Wizard or Wireless Setup:
- Look for an option like "Wireless Setup Wizard" or "Network Setup" and select it. This option helps you reconfigure the wireless settings to connect to your new router.
Follow the On-Screen Instructions:
- The printer will search for available networks. Select your new Wi-Fi network (SSID) from the list.
- Enter the new Wi-Fi password when prompted. Use the printer's control panel keypad or touchscreen to input the password.
Complete the Setup:
- Once you've entered the correct Wi-Fi password, the printer will attempt to connect to the new network. This process may take a minute or two.
Print a Network Configuration Page (optional):
- After successfully connecting to the new network, consider printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel. This page confirms the new network settings and provides information you might need in the future.
Method 2: Using HP Smart App (if available)
Open HP Smart App:
- Install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device (available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS).
Add your Printer:
- Open the HP Smart app and click on the (+) sign to add a new printer.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to add your HP printer. If the printer is not automatically detected, you may need to manually enter the printer's model number.
Connect to New Wi-Fi Network:
- During the setup process in HP Smart, you'll be prompted to select a Wi-Fi network. Choose your new router's network name (SSID) from the list.
- Enter the new Wi-Fi password when prompted.
Complete Setup:
- Once the HP Smart app confirms successful connection to the new network, you should be able to print wirelessly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
