HP pavilion all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The mandatory printer security update completed ok.   But several days later, tried to print, and printer had to be manually connected online.  But that knocks of my computer internet.  Then I have to switch it back.

Printer is labeled as 2652, but was called HP deskjet 2600.  Now the upgrade name seems to be HP 606390 (hp deskjet 2600) in parenthesis

@dxter123, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the internet gets disconnected on the computer.

I believe the printer is using the Wifi-Direct instead of connecting to the wireless router.

During this process, there will be no internet access on the computer.

Restart the router, the printer, and the PC to check if this helps.

Use the WPS method to connect the printer to your home wireless network.

Refer to - Connecting an HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
