Product: HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer

My devices:  Photosmart 6520 All-in-one.  Acer Chromebook 15

My problem:  Printer will print photo on regular paper, filling the whole paper 8 X 11.   When I set the printer to the photo tray and put in 4 X 6 photo paper (face down as instructed) the photo paper is delivered with only some black streaks on the non-glossy side of the paper and no photo.  Sometimes an error comes up that says "mismatched paper".  I put in new ink cartridges and ran all the tests which came out fine.  I even tried putting the photo paper in the paper tray and it did the same thing...no photo and the same error as mentioned.  I did change the paper tray setting.  The computer seems to be communicating fine with the printer.  What is wrong?   TIA for any help.
