Hi @bob7270,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer's connectivity!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Ensure Initial Setup:
- Check Wireless Button:
- Make sure the Wi-Fi button on the printer is turned on. The button light should be lit.
Use HP Smart App:
Install HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer from the device's app store or from 123.hp.com.
Open HP Smart App:
- After installation, open the app on your device.
Connect Printer:
- Follow the instructions on the app to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network. The app will guide you through the necessary steps.
Manual Wi-Fi Setup:
Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):
- If your router supports WPS, press the WPS button on the router.
- Then press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer for at least 3 seconds. The printer should start connecting to the Wi-Fi network.
Connect Using Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Open the embedded web server (EWS) by entering the printer's IP address in a web browser.
- Navigate to the "Network" or "Wireless" settings in EWS.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your printer, router, and device you are using to connect the printer. Often, restarting can resolve connectivity issues.
Check Network Settings:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is functioning correctly. Check if other devices can connect to the network.
Move Printer Closer to Router:
- Sometimes, physical distance between the printer and the router can cause connectivity issues. Move your printer closer to the router.
I hope this helps.
