"This feature was locked by the person who set the printer up". How do we unlock the printer settings?  This is the message I get when using the touchscreen to set up the printer.  The printer works, I can print instructions from the menu, but the wifi does not, all settings for wifi or wps including network settings throw me the message above.  How do I unlock it to set up the wifi?  I moved so just need to connect the wifi to the printer but the locks are on and I didn't turn them on.  HP assisted with set up when purchased so somehow admin controls in the touchscreen menu are locked and not enabling me to set up the new wifi

To unlock the printer settings and configure the Wi-Fi on your HP printer, you can try the following steps:

1. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults

Access the Control Panel:

  • Go to the Setup or Settings menu on the printer’s touchscreen.

Find the Reset Option:

  • Look for an option like Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings. This will reset the printer and may unlock the settings.

2. Use the HP Smart App

  • If you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device, try connecting through the app. It may allow you to change settings without needing to access the touchscreen.

3. Check for Administrator Password

  • If the printer was set up with an administrator password, you may need to contact the person who set it up for that information. Sometimes, printers have a default password, such as “admin” or “1234”.
