Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to use the HP Officejet Pro 8610 Embedded Web Server to set up scan to email and no matter what credentials I use (I've tried 3 different email accounts and every variation of the parameters) I get an error message: " A problem occurred during the test. Click "Edit" to check your settings, and then try again. For more information, visit www.hp.com/support."  I've contacted support from the email accounts and those settings are correct as far as they can tell.

HP Recommended

You cannot use your email or account password credentials.  You must use an "application" password instead.

 

 A special "application" password is required as discussed here.

example is g.mail but same for yahoo and outlook
