Hi @tvfmthank,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To troubleshoot the print error you're experiencing with your HP ENVY Photo 7800 printer on Windows 10,
here are some steps you can try:
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. Verify that the Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable.
- You can also try restarting both your printer and your computer to refresh the connection.
Check Printer Status:
- On your Windows 10 computer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your HP ENVY Photo 7800 printer and check its status. Make sure it shows as "Ready" or "Online."
Update Printer Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can often cause printing errors. Update the printer drivers to the latest version:
- Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Find your printer under "Print queues," right-click on it, and select "Update driver."
- Choose to search automatically for updated driver software.
Clear Print Queue:
- Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause errors. Clear the print queue to remove any pending print jobs:
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP ENVY Photo 7800 printer and select "See what's printing."
- If there are any pending print jobs, right-click and select "Cancel" or "Cancel All Documents."
Check Paper and Ink/Toner:
- Ensure that there is enough paper in the printer's paper tray.
- Check the ink or toner levels. Low ink or toner can sometimes cause print errors.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor User manual
- HP provides a diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can help identify and resolve printing issues automatically. You can download it from the HP website and run it to check for any problems.
Reinstall Printer:
- If none of the above steps work, try removing and reinstalling the printer:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your printer and click on "Remove device."
- Then, click on "Add a printer or scanner" and follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall your HP ENVY Photo 7800 printer.

I hope this helps.
