UNABLE TO CONNECT WI-FI WITH MY NEW NETWORK - HP 4100 DESKJET SERIES

If you’re having trouble connecting your HP DeskJet 4100 series printer to your new T-Mobile network, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Network Details

  • Verify Network Name and Password:
    • Ensure that you have the correct SSID (network name) and password for your T-Mobile network.
    • Make sure your network is operating on a compatible frequency band (2.4 GHz is commonly supported by most printers).

2. Restart Devices

Power Cycle Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.

Restart Router:

  • Unplug your router from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and wait for it to fully restart.

Restart Computer or Mobile Device:

  • Restart the device you’re using to set up the printer.

3. Connect Printer to Network

Using the Printer’s Control Panel:

Access Wireless Setup:

  • On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless icon or navigate to the Setup menu, then select Wireless Settings or Network Setup.

Select Wireless Network:

  • Choose the option to set up a wireless connection. Select Wireless Setup Wizard or a similar option.

Select Your Network:

  • The printer will search for available networks. Select your T-Mobile network from the list.

Enter Password:

  • Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.

Confirm Connection:

  • The printer should confirm once it successfully connects to the network. Print a network configuration page to verify.

Using the HP Smart App:

Install HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from HP Smart on your computer or mobile device.

Add Printer:

  • Open the HP Smart app and select Add Printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your T-Mobile network.

Follow Setup Instructions:

  • The app will guide you through connecting your printer to the new network.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Update Firmware:
    • Visit the HP Support website and search for the latest firmware for your HP DeskJet 4100 series printer.
    • Download and install any available updates to ensure compatibility with your network.
