Hi @County3 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To assist you better May I know if you are getting any error messages when you connect to the server?

I understand you are experiencing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-In-One Printer connecting to a server on your Microsoft Windows 11 system,

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Check Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your Windows 11 computer. You can do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel.
  • Restart Devices: Sometimes, network issues can be resolved by simply restarting your printer, computer, and network router.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP support website. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Update Printer Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your Windows 11 computer. You can download and install the drivers from the HP website.  Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer series
  • Firewall and Antivirus Settings: Check your firewall and antivirus settings to ensure that they are not blocking the printer's connection to the server. You may need to add an exception for the printer or temporarily disable the firewall/antivirus to test the connection.
  • Check Server Settings: Verify that the server you are trying to connect to is configured correctly and accessible from your network. Ensure that any necessary sharing settings or permissions are properly configured.
  • Network Troubleshooting: Use network troubleshooting tools on your Windows 11 computer to diagnose any network connectivity issues. This could include tools like the built-in Windows Network Troubleshooter or third-party network analysis tools.
  • Reset Printer Network Settings: If all else fails, you can try resetting the network settings on your printer and reconfiguring the connection from scratch.
