1536mfp mispick

HP Recommended
1536 MFP
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

ADF is no longer grabbing paper for scanning or copying.  There is an ugly juttering noise then Mispick message on screen.  I have cleaned the rollers and the separator.  Unplugged power and started over.  What next?  I am not sure how to get what seems like a small issue fixed.  I got spoiled working for HP in the Printer division; never had to solve these problems myself.

Hi @clayton_cramer,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to you printer issue.

I understand that you are using an HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer with a Windows 7 PC and the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) is not feeding paper for copying or scanning. I would like to help with that.

From what you have mentioned, it looks like you have done the troubleshooting for this issue. Here is the support document intended for use with this issue you could reference if you like - 'Document feeder mispick' Message Displays on the Control Panel and the ADF Does Not Pick Up Paper o....

Another thing that may be worthwhile checking would be the printer's firmware. The printer's firmware version can be found on the Self Test/Configuration Page which can be printed from the printer's Reports menu.

If your printer's firmware version precedes 20140630 the printer's firmware needs to be updated. You can go the HP LaserJet Firmware Update Utility download page by clicking here.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

In fact, if this helps you to reach a solution, please click the "Accept as Solution", and the "thumbs up" buttons down below in this message. 🙂

Thanks!
