Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

It says the cartridge is for older generation of printer.... this is a 61 so IT SHOULD work for any printer that takes a 61 no matter what generation the printer is ... this is very inconvenient.

Hi,

An older generation cartridge is an outdated cartridge manufatured at 2012 or earlier, a such cannot be used by the printer and need to be replaced.

 

You may find the following document, any cartridge made prior 4/2012, with a warranty end date of 4/2014 or earlier will be rejected:
