Hi all,

I can't set up the scan to computer on one of my computers. The printer needs to be able to scan to 3 different computers on the network. It easily set up for 2 of them, but the last one I have been unable to set up.

The printer is wired into the router (as is the computer). I have installed the full feature package (including all the bloatware) and the option "Manage Scan to Computer" button is there. However, when I click it, nothing happens. It does not acknowledge that anything has happened.

I've run the Print & Scan doctor multiple times and it claimed that I didn't have the driver installed. The link it gave me was dead, but I found another link to the "scanner driver" which was the same software I originally installed.

I'm stuck and don't know what else to try. I do have a printer usb - regular usb so I can wire in, but I need it to be eventually wireless scanning.

Thanks

Scanning issues…

Please try this scan solution:

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi   For Windows.

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Make searchable PDF scans for free -   https://www.naps2.com/

Let us know.

Hi @morrill714,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.  Apologies for jumping in.

Can you try to Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software for the PC that is not able to Scan to Computer?

Can you try this Uninstaller from Microsoft and then reinstall the FULL feature software again?

How to Scan to Computer

Once you have installed the software:

1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.
3. Make sure that you “Enable” Scan to Computer. Also make sure the tab “Automatically start Scan to Computer when I log on to Windows” is checked if you want to make this feature permanent. (the following video will show you how)

Hope that helps!
