Unable to scan documents to my HP Pavillion computer. Error message reads: Open HP printer software; Select: scan actions; Select: Manage scan to computer.
I have a Windows 10 operating system. I have been through the HP print and scan Doctor numerous times. have not located the area to make the above "selections". Appreciate any help.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:
The following resource will help you :

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.
How to Scan to Computer
Once you have installed the software:
1. Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant.
2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.
3. Make sure that you “Enable” Scan to Computer. Also make sure the tab “Automatically start Scan to Computer when I log on to Windows” is checked if you want to make this feature permanent. (the following video will show you how)

Thnaks for the suggestion. Went thru the process unsuccessfully. I had tried this yesterday also. I got as far as "Network Printer Installation" Green bar ran for 14 minutes and came back with a "Printer Unable to Install over the Network" message.
Any other thoughts are welcome. Thanks for trying.

Hi,
Network Install fail
Printer might have disabled the Function Discovery. Can you try this:
- Right Click on the Windows Start button and go to Control Panel
- View by "Small Icons" and go to Administrative tools
- Click on Services
- Go to Function Discovery Provider Host and Function Discovery Resource Publication, make sure both are "Started"
- Install your FULL feature software again.
