Hi RodgerJames,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems trying to scan from the front panel of your Officejet 7610.
I have included a link from PCWizard on how to check the "Manage Scan to Computer" setting. Can you please check to see if you have the "Manage Scan to Computer" checked and then please let me know?

Hi GMB2013,
I'm sorry to hear you are having problems scanning from your Officejet 7610.
To further assist you can you please provide some further information
1) What version of Mac OS X are you running?
2) How is the printer connected (USB cable, wireless or ethernet)?
3) When trying to scan previously which software were you using (HP software, Apple Preview, Apple Image Capture, or from Print & Scan window)?
4) If it was an HP app, what is the name of the HP app?

This link didn't work; it's for a 5510 and there is no icon on my computer for the 7610 printer. No HP 7610 software either, not on disc (which only connects to HP.com, or wants to set up a network). Very frustrating.

I found an EZ fix and blogged it. I just bought one and after pulling my hair out trying to get the scanner to work, found this fix. I don't use the feeder for anything, but use the flatbed often. And for those that don't think it's a full 11x17 scanner, it really is and does work.

I have a mac book pro.
The 7610 printer drive will not save scans to email or to the computer.
I looked at vuescan, but they charge for this.
Spending this much money on an HP printer and the darned thing doesn't work to do simple scans?
Please help !!!!!!

Hi I have the same problem, I can’t scan to a HP OfficeJet 7610 from a Mac but I can print, please can you let me know if you have found a solution?
I have tried downloading and installing the latest software and drivers from the HP website.
One thing I have noticed is on another Mac the printer was detected automatically when adding it and then a dialog box popped up asking to download additional software and the scanning feature worked straight away there is a scan button in the right corner of the print queue. However on the other Mac the printer does not show up in the list when adding a new printer, I can add it via IP but it only prints there is no option to scan.
Another strange thing I have noticed is that the Webscan feature works but it would be nice to have the inbuilt scan option working.
Any advice would be appreciated!
