7640 printer shifts from selected photo tray main tray when printing from my Android

I am using the HP print app to print 4x6 photos from my Android.  Unfortunately even after selecting "photo tray 4x6" on the options page the printer shoots out a full letter size photo?????   Also,  the printer won't print some selected photos from my Android and displays "fill paper in photo tray" when it already has paper in it??

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution: 

Does the printer recognize photo paper when you try to copy a photo directly from the printer, excluding the computer?

You are loading your paper vertically, print side down too right?

Photo paper is loaded correctly and restricted to the recommended 5 pages in the cartridge.  Printer will print photo 4x6 size from all my photos on the computer.   It also prints copies directly from the printer.  My android is set up for Envy7640 series network just like the printer.  Any other recommendations?

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I had a word with the R&D team about the same and it looks like we have a alternate solution,

You may want to remove the paper from all the other trays and use the photo tray alone to stop the shifting of trays during the print via android as there seems to be a glitch within the Android OS that is being worked on as we discuss the issue,

Soon they may release a patch to fix these issues.

Meanwhile, this should fix the concern.
