HP 8600 Premium Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the printer plugged directly into an outlet.  I am looking for the directions to reset the printer back to the factory settings.  I saw a similar message on your (HP) site where this was recommended to correct the same problem someone else was having;  however, a copy of the instructions were not included on the post.   If you think this may help my problem of flatbed cutting off top 2 or so inches of what I am copying, please let me know and send the instructions.  I have no problem when using the document feeder.  Thanks.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand the HP 8600 Premium is cutting off the top 2 inches of the page when using the copy feature via flatbed,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Does the issue not occur when printing, is it limited to copies alone?

Did you know that the reset would delete all personal preferences and settings from the printer?
If yes, are you okay with it?

If you have quality issues using the copy feature: Click here to troubleshoot and resolve.

While you respond to that, considering you are here only for the reset procedure, I will honor your request and send it out.

And to help you out, I'm sending out a Private message with the instructions,

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,

Next, to your Profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Please reply back on the public post as this Private message box is not monitored.

(The reason we are utilizing the private message is because the instructions are critical,

And we don't want it in the wrong hands, as the printer will be set back to factory defaults).

Keep me posted for further assistance 😉
