Printer will not run the ADF when trying to scan to my computer. It will only scan from glass. How can I fix this?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you try to scan using the HP Scan Software from your computer and ensure that the scan settings are set such that the "Source is Use Document Feeder if loaded"?

Save the settings and then try scanning from your printer to computer again.

Watch this resource that will explain how Scan to Computer works:

How to use "Scan to Computer" properly

Hope that helps.

Hello Greenturtle,

I appreciate your response and have tried your suggestions.

Unfortunately, it did not fix this problem. It prints fine from my computer, it copies fine via the ADF, and scans from the glass but will not scan via the ADF.

The scan via ADF has worked previously. I've tried shutting everything down and have reset all wireless connections.

Hi,

Is the FULL feature software installed?

If not, the following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

After that, start the HP Printer Assistant and then select Scan, ensure the settings to be "Source" = Adf if loaded.  Example:

Scan Extended using ADF.jpg

Then scan.  It should pick from the ADF.

Thanks.
