Officejet Pro 8500 A909g
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After Win10(64b) creators update the printer driver fails on Officejet Pro 8500.  I have tried reinstalling the HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver version 14.8.0 and it works for a bit and then stops working.  As you are aware this is a AIO device and all services have failed.  Please help resolve or submit for update.

@VonStap

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the Officejet Pro 8500 printer drivers failed after the Win10(64b) creators update,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you attempted to run a test using the HP Print and scan doctor? Click here to download, install & Run (if you haven't).

While you respond with the above, here's what you could do:

Download and re-install the drivers for windows 10 to attempt to refresh/fix this concern,

I recommend you delete the driver at root level and retry, follow the steps below:

In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

And then download using this link: Click here

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

I have gone through these steps and yes it fixes the problem but for a short while.  I am not sure of the exact time frame but in less than 24 hrs it reverts to being broke and I reinstall.  Rinse ... Wash .... Repeat.....

I have checked the logs and cannot find why this is happening.  I even did a clean install of Win10 and it is still happening.

Not sure how to proceed but this has already eaten up too much time.  If you need specific information I would be happy to provide.

@VonStap

Thank you for replying with this overwhelming and detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I understand this has been a time-consuming experience, however, unlike a chat support, forums are a bit slow as there's a lot of research and in-depth steps involved,

Don't worry though, as we'll get you the solution you need as I've taken a vow to fight till the very end 😉

I recommend you uninstall the drivers one more time using the same steps mentioned before and then use the built-in drivers to get your printer working: Click here

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
