I too can't print on photo paper with my Envy 5530.  I have been printing on photo paper every since I bought my printer over 2 years ago.  All of a sudden, it won't work.  First thirdof the photo prints on the last third of the paper.  I also get masses of black streaks on the back.  I am really frustrated since I am on a ship and I can't call support (at $7.00/minute) and I don't want to spend all my shore time on hold with HP Support, nor do I want to have to carry my computer AND the printer into town when I call.

The photo paper may leave a coating on the rollers that make them slick and less able to properly feed the paper.  At some point, if the printer is trying to print and the paper is not in position it may deposit ink on the platen and rollers as well. Cleaning the rollers as shown in solution two of the document here may resolve the issue with your Envy 5530 printer.
