BLACK INK ONLY

HP Recommended
HP8610

Why can the printer not print in Black ink only?? Without replacing the color cartridges? I don't currently need to print in color. I just currently replaced the black ink cartriged and now it says I also need to replace the blue and yellow.

Hi,

Sorry to jump in. Looks likes you have been printing in grayscale therefore printer has to mix all colors to print. Please try to set it up to print Black Ink Only using the following steps (for Windows):

(a) Double click printer icon on desktop,
(b) Click Set Preferences,
(c) Click Advanced,
(d) Select "Black Ink only" for Print in Grayscale window,
(e) Click Ok/Apply ...

Note: Printer still needs all color inks and it will consume a very small amount of inks during warming up process.

Regards.
