All my other colors print except the black. I have gone through the troupbleshooting guide that has been presented here on the HP site and still nothing. Part part is I bought a bunch of new cartridges and this won't print. I have always used on HP cartridges in my printer.
I am in the U.S. and I have seen other people have this same issue. Printer and scanner works flawlessly otherwise. All the other colors print.
Please help.
Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Photosmart 6510 printer. I understand that your printer is not printing in black and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,
Make sure the ink cartridges are properly vented and seated correctly.
Clean the printhead.
- Make sure that plain white U.S. letter or A4 size paper is loaded in the tray.
- From the control panel home screen, touch the Setup icon (
).
- Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Printhead. The product cleans the printheads, and then prints a test page.
- Review the print quality on the test page.
- If the print quality is still poor, repeat previous steps for cleaning the printhead.
Click here and follow the document to perform above mentioned troubleshooting steps.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.

I did the "clean printhead" more than 5 times and did not get it to get any better. I switched my black ink and still the same effect AND did the "clean printhead" again a few more times. The crazy thing is all the other colors print perfectly fine. Very frustrating as I have purchased a bunch of new ink for this printer. The cartridge that I had in their initially is almost full before I changed it to ANOTHER new genuine HP cartridge.
Any other idea what is going on or how to fix? I like the printer and the scanner is great. It works wonderful other than this issue.

And to add......
I followed the guide that you posted as I saw that there were SEVERAL other people that had this issue before but I do not see anywhere that there is a solution. I am really bummed about this.
I am in the U.S. if that helps. I noticed other people mentioned where they were.....

Thanks for the reply.
This seems to be a hardware issue.
I request you to contact HP Phone support for further support on this.
Cheers.

So basically, a new printer as I this is out of warranty.....blah blah blah....
I knew I shouldn't have bought the new ink....They make these things so that now the new printer is cheaper than the ink. It's just weird that it works fine with all the other colors except the one that I would want to use most. Never used it for photo or any of the other "cool" functions it is supposed to do. I just want it to print.

I understand the situation.
Since this is a new cartridge and it is not working.
HP Phone support agent will replace the cartridge for you.
Try to print with the replaced cartridge to make sure if the issue is with the cartridge or printer.
Cheers.

I have tried to print with two (2) new cartridges with the exact same results. I am traveling for work and won't be at my home office until the weekend. I will try and contact the HP people when I am home. Hopefully someone will be able to help me on a Saturday.
