HP Office Jet Pro 6970

Just got this fax out of the box, connected and tested. The test report indicates that everything passed, however I can receive a fax but am unable to send a fax. Any ideas why?

Hello, @RonPuckett – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! I’d like to be of your assistance!

Going through your post, I understand that you are able to receive faxes, but unable to send them. Is this issue happening with only one number or is it happening with all the numbers you try to fax? Also, are you getting any error code while sending the fax? Let me know.

Alternatively, let's try to disable the Error Correction Mode (ECM). To change the ECM setting from the control panel, use the following steps:

  1. From the home screen on the printer control panel, touch Fax.

  2. Touch Setup.

  3. Touch Preferences.

  4. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Error Correction Mode to toggle on or off.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂
