Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

My printer does not print black.  I have tried all the steps including replacing cartridges, checking vents, cleaning the print head, running multiple clean cycles and ultimately replacing the printhead.  $75+ dollars later and still not black printing.  Is it time to buy a new printer...?

I understand that you have replaced the printhead as the printer stopped printing in black and tried all the troubleshooting steps and still the printer is not printing in black, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to help. 

Kudos to you for trying a lot of troubleshooting steps on your own.

Are you able to make a copy on your printer?

 

Recommend you refer to this HP Article and check if the alignment page prints. 

If the alignment page not print as well, refer to this HP Article and check if the cartridges are vented correctly. 

If the issue persists, please contact our phone support to check on the service or trade in options available for your printer.

I have tried the alignment and still missing the black.  I will call HP but as I am our of warranty I hope it doesn't cost to talk to them!  And now I have a new printhead I am not able to use.  Is there a new, similar model which this will fit in?  I have been very happy with this printer from Day one right up until now.

I understand you have followed the steps suggested in the previous post and still having the issue with the printer not printing in black. I would personally suggest this could be a printer hardware. I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for available out of warranty service options or upgrade information. If your product is out of warranty, please choose paid options to get the tech support number.

 

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone numberCase number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.
