We have a worker that has been printing on this machine for almost a year, but never has been able to save a scan to the computer.  They scan the items directly to a flash stick and then move the flash stick to the computer.  This issue was just brought to our attention.  We have tried EVERYTHING mentioned on these sites with no success.

When we run the Print and Scan Doctor, it hangs up on the Driver check.

Does anyone have any more ideas?

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer. I understand that you are unable to scan to and save it in the computer directly and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

Remove Drivers:

  • Click on your Start menu
  • Select All Programs
  • Select the HP folder
  • Select the HP Deskjet
  • Select Uninstall

Clear Temp Files:

  • Click on your Start menu
  • In the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start after you click on it, type %temp% and hit enter on your keyboard
  • When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.
  • Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be in use, you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.
  • Close the Temp folder once it is emptied
  • Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin.

Install the driver again.

Click here to install full feature software and drivers.

Let me know how it goes.

I hope it helps and if you feel I have answered your question and concerns,

Please mark this post as a solution accepted and Kudos would also be appreciated.

Cheers.

Hello SandyTechy20.  I hope you are having a good morning.  I tried a removal and re-install first before I ever started searching for solutions.  To be thorough, I followed your instructions and tried again.  That did not work.  We can still print, but not scan.
