Cannot connect Envy 7640 printer to computer via wireless network

HP Recommended
HP Envy 7640e
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I've connected my new printer to my home wireless network with no problem.  I've even set up to print from my phone without issue.  But, for some reason, I cannot connect my HP work laptop.  I have only tried connecting them through my wireless network because I don't have a USB cable.  I'm wondering if it may have something to do with not having administrative privileges with my computer (since the laptop is work issued).  I took my laptop to the office and our IT guy download the software and drivers.  But when I try to install the printer, it says the printer cannot be installed over the network.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP forum.

Are you on VPN when you were instaling the pritner drivers?

That and the administrative rights plus antivirus software  could be reasons for the blockage.

Check wit h you adminstrator for more info.

Thanks.
