The print head is also a consideration that buyers should take a look at prior to purchase, whether the ink cartridge needs to be colour or simply black and white.

Cartridge Compatibility - how to find out which cartridges are compatible for YOUR printer

Dear Sir/Madam,

Was worked in Muscat(Middle East), Now retired and settled in India.

I use HP Deskjet 2050 all in one machine for which I purchase 122 for color and black cartridge.

In India what is the cartridge equivalent to 122 available and to use.

One time I suffered equivalent to 122 cartridge but it was not compatible and I have returned the same to the shop.

Please advise.

O.A. Mukundan.

Cartridge Compatibility - how to find out which cartridges are compatible for YOUR printer

The HP SureSupply site lists the 802 cartridges as the correct ones for the Deskjet 2050 in India.

Before you can use the 802 cartridges you will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.
