I just bought a new hp desktop with Windows 7 (64 bit) and I can't find the print driver for my hp Color LaserJet 2600n. The color laserjet 2600n is not listed when I try to add a printer using the Devices and Printers control panel in Windows 7. Any help in locating the proper driver would be greatly appreciated.

I have had same problem. But I solved it. I am using ethernet cable, not USB.
First, search 2600n from HP support webpage.
Then click windows7 64bit (not home premium, enterprise or any other)
Download "HP Color LaserJet 2600n Plug and Play Package" and try to install it.
When you try to install the driver that will prompt you to plug usb cable of 2600n. Just click cancel to cancel installation.
finally go to control panel and device & printers. click add printer and click add network printer.
click printer is not listed. then select TCP / IP bla bla... and click next. then write the printer's ip address. and click next.

I was able to successfully install my Color Laserjet 2600n on a 64 bit Windows 7 system by using the corresponding Vista 64 bit driver package. Interestingly, when I was installing the driver package, the install window indicated that this driver was also for Windows 7, 64 bit.

This procedure didn't work for me as the test page would not print. Kept getting error message. HOWEVER, the next suggested solution in this thread DID work for me. That solution suggests downloading the Vista 64 bit driver. The process wherein you use TCP/IP to specify your printer when connected to the network via ethernet cable did the trick! Thanks a ton to both of you for your assistence!

This procedure DID work for me also. The solution suggests downloading the Vista 64 bit driver versus messing with the Windows 7 and UPD drivers. My Laserjet 2600n DOES work when I first install WIN7 Ultimate right up to point when windows updates itself. After that time, it does not print at all even though it is listed in the printer and hardware list.
If I format the hard drive and reinstall windows 7, it works until it automatically updates when it again refuses to print.
Can I roll-back or uninstall the updated driver?
